2016

Best of Festival

 

Won my second Best of Festival (BOF) award from the BEA Festival of Media Arts, TideSports.com TV. Still the only person to have won a Best of Festival in Faculty Sports. 2016 also marked the second time I won a BOF award and had a paper selected for the annual BEA Research Symposium.

2014

Best of Festival

 

Won my first Best of Festival (BOF) award in Faculty Sports (also the first BOF in Faculty Sports ever awarded) from the BEA Festival of Media Arts, for Houndstooth: Tradition. Community. In addition to the BOF, I had a Top Paper award in the International Division and had a paper selected for the BEA Research Symposium. I'm the only person to have a research paper and creative project selected for awards in the same year at the BEA conference.

One of two faculty members to receive the first faculty awards given by the Sports Division in the Festival of Media Arts. Was given an Award of Excellence for the entry OU Basketball on the Sooner Sports Network.

Centennial Moments
​

Produced 23 short videos to celebrate the centinnial of Oklahoma Baptist University.

Director of the video liveboards  for the first football game from the renovated stadium.

2008

BEA Sports Division

 

First chair of the BEA Sports Division (2008-2009). BEA was the first communication association to create an interest division focused on sports media. As the chair, I created the division bylaws, started the research paper competition, and oversaw establishment of the division's Festival of Media Arts competition.

2006

Powerball Lottery

 

Director/Technical Director for the live nationwide Powerball Lottery drawing. The dreawing was held on location at the State Fairgrounds Arena in Oklahoma City on the first Saturday night that Powerball was legal in the State of Oklahoma.

New Orleans / Oklahoma City Hornets
 
TD'd the in-house feed for the first regular-season NBA basketball game ever played in Oklahoma City. I worked as a TD for 20+ home games during the 2005/2006 NBA season.
Gallagher-Iba Arena - Stillwater, OK

Camera operater (camera 5 - slash) for the first broadcast from the renovated/expanded home of Oklahoma State Cowboy basketball. This game against University of Arkansas, LIttle Rock is also memorable because Jason Keep broke the backboard near the end of the game.

Part of the crew that cabled the unfinished sports areana for  television broadcasts, running triax, coax and audio mult cable and hookups.

​

Part of the production crew for the first television broadcast from the newly completed Abe Lemmons Arena on the Oklahoma City University.

Bricktown Ballpark - Oklahoma City, OK.

​

Part of the production crew for the first television broadcast from the newly completed Bricktown Ballpark Triple A baseball stadium in Oklahoma City.

AVID Media Composer 9000

​

Purhased my first non-linear editing system for the U.S. Postal Service Technical Training Center. The system had a 200MB raid hard drive tower. Total cost of the system was $110,000.
